Diagnostic characters
Pronotum concealing much of forewing in repose, simple or with elevated medain carina or with globose swellings, without longitudinal rugae and suprahumeral horns. Forewing with veins R and M fused basally but strongly divergent near middle of wing. Hind wing without r-m crossvien; R4+5 and M1+2 confluent for short distance but divergent near apex. Metathoracic femur without longitudinal row of cucullate setae. Female second valvulae narrow and elongate.

McKamey, Wallner, and Porter (2015a) provided descriptions and an illustrated key to the immatures of 8 of the 11 included genera.
