Overview
The Old World genera Tyrannotus and Elaphiceps are thought to form a monophyletic group together with the tribe Lobocentrini (Wallace and Deitz 2004a). The male style clasp of these genera resembles that of members of the Lobocentrini, however, the chaetotaxy of their legs differs from members of that tribe. Tyrannotus and Elaphiceps are currently placed incertae sedis within the subfamily Centrotinae.
