Overview
Llanquihuea includes only the sexually dimorphic Chilean species L. pilosa Linnavori and Delong, 1978. Females have a short anterior pronotal horn, similar to species of Melizoderes, and have only one definite row of cucullate seate on the mesothoracic tibia (they seldom have any cucullate setae on the prothoracic tibia). Although males lack the anterior pronotal horn, they have two rows of cucullate setae on the pro- and mesothoracic tibiae. (Deitz and Dietrich 1993a)
