Overview
The genus Quadrinarea includes two species: Q. u-flava and Q. perezi, both originally known only from Jamaica. McKamey and Wallner (2022a) provided the first description and illustrations of immature Q. u-flava and extended the distribution of this species also to Dominica and questionably Guyana.

Diagnostic characters
Members of the genus Quadrinarea differ from other Smiliinae in having the following combination of features: pronotum partially concealing the forewings in repose; forewings with R and M fused basally and abruptly diverging near mid-wing; hind wing with R4+5 and M1+2 entirely confluent distally; metathoracic leg with longitudinal row of cucullate femoral setae dorsally, 3 longitudinal rows of tibial setae, and 1 longitudinal row of cucullate tarsal setae (Deitz 1975a; McKamey and Wallner 2022a).
Immatures
Fifth instar nymphs of Quadrinarea differ from other fifth instar treehopper nymphs in entirely lacking scoli or other dorsal or lateral protuberances; also their first metathoracic tarsomere is longer than the second metathoracic tarsomere (McKamey and Wallner 2002a).
Host plants
McKamey and Wallner (2022a) report that a likely host plant of Quadrinarea is soursop, Annona muricata (family Annonaceae).
