Overview
The Costa Rican genus Mutilifolia includes only the type species M. nishidai, discoverd by Kenji Nishida at the Monteverde Biological Station, April 2014 (Wallace 2015a).

Diagnostic characters
Pronotum foliaceous, highly elevated, green with brown markings. Metathoracic tibiae without ventral ablateral cucullate setae; tarsomere II without apical cucullate setae. Male style clasp with 2 recurved teeth; lateral plate partially fused to tergum IX. (Wallace 2015a).
