Distribution
Neotropical region: Caribbean Islands (West Indies) (Wallace and Deitz 2004a; see McKamey 1998a: 11, regarding misplaced species).
Diagnostic characters
Pronotum with or without suprahumeral horns, these partially fused into median anterior horn in Nessorhinus and Orekthophora; posterior process straight at base, appressed against and entirely concealing scutellum (exception: scutellum partially visible laterally in Diamon and polymorphic in Orthobelus), extending significantly past m-cu3 crossvein in forewing. Female second valvulae narrow near base and not significantly broadened distally, with large dorsal teeth. Abdomen with paired dorsal swellings, anterior tergal borders modified into irregular ridges.
