Overview
Sakakibara and Creão-Duarte (2004a) presented an illustrated revision of Lophyraspis with new synonomies and a new combination. Based on their revised diagnosis and of the genus, it includes six species (two of which are new). The authors separate the species into two groups based on the presence or absence of a median pronotal carina. In both groups the scutellum has a median carina or elevated ridge apically.
