Diagnostic characters
Head with vertex bearing toothlike projections. Pronotum with suprahumeral horns and numerous acute projections; posterior process either straight at base and appressed against scutellum (Negus_) or curved dorsally and not appressed against scutellum (_Xiphopoeus), significantly extending past m-cu3 crossvein of forewing.
