Overview
The Old World genera Elaphiceps and Tyrannotus are currently placed incertae sedis within the subfamily Centrotinae. The male style clasp in these genera resembles that of members of the Lobocentrini, however, the chaetotaxy of their legs differs from members of that tribe. In morphology-based phylogenetic analyses they form a monophyletic group together with the tribe Lobocentrini (Wallace and Deitz 2004a).
