Overview
Oropedium includes only its type species, O. tatamaense described by Flórez-V (2022a) from the Andes (Páramo of Tatamá) of Colombia. This genus is of uncertain placement (incertae sedis) within the subfamily Membracinae, but may be identified in a revised key to the tribes of Membracinae provided with the original genus description.
Taxon history
This was the only treehopper found above 3000 meters during an expedition to the Páramo of Tatamá of Colombia (Flórez-V 2022a).
