Diagnostic characters
Head about half as wide as distance between humeral angles; maxillary plates projecting laterally, reaching procoxae; pronotum with anterodorsal process in females (absent in some males), posterior process reaching forewing apex; hind wing with r-m crossvein, cell R3 larger than R5 (Flórez-V., Wolff, and Cardona-Duque 2015a).
Host plants
Plants in the families Adoxaceae and Sabiaceae are recorded as hosts (Camacho, Flórez-V., and Evangelista 2017a).
Behavior
Subsocial behavior in the form of maternal care of eggs and nymphs is reported in this genus (Camacho, Flórez-V., and Evangelista 2017a).
