References on Treehoppers

A searchable, up-to-date bibliographic database on treehoppers (in preparation) will list a few thousand publications pertaining to all fields of basic and applied biology. Coverage will include literature on taxonomy, evolution, morphology, cytology, biology, ecology, natural enemies, symbionts, physiology, distribution, host plants, life histories, and pest management.

Until the database is available, a list of selected works published since 1955 is provided below. For the earlier literature, the DrMetcalf online resource provides a bibliographic search tool for the literature on treehoppers and related families (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha) published through1955. Be aware that an ever increasing number of older entomological publications are available online through the Biodiversity Heritage Library.
