Diagnostic characters
Head strongly trilobed: ventral margin of vertex forming distinct lobe on each side of frontoclypeus. Pronotum ornate: anterior process (in lateral aspect) usually more or less C-shaped, in some with small toothlike extension on posterior margin; middorsal process absent to highly developed; posterior process present and in some species highly elongate or inflated.
